Country Cottage Assisted Living in Decatur, Alabama recently marked its 15th year of serving north Alabama’s seniors.
To celebrate, we hosted a party for friends and family of The Cottage, as well as vendors and individuals who have helped us serve the community throughout the years.

Sandy Brackin, Vice President of Operations at Cottage Assisted Living; Susan Abercrombie, Senior Managing Director of Country Cottage in Decatur and Columbia Cottage in Hartselle; and Mayor Tab Bowling spoke to a crowd of 150+ and shared their success story of revitalizing assisted living for Decatur’s seniors and how much they’ve grown over the past 15 years.
Robert Montgomery treated guests to wonderful banjo and guitar music as they enjoyed delicious homemade foods and desserts.
An outdoor ribbon cutting ceremony was held with the Mayor and Decatur Chamber of Commerce under a beautiful, blue, and sunny sky. Throughout the ceremony, many prizes were given away to attendees. Thank you to these wonderful local businesses for donating prizes: Right at Home, Hospice of the Valley, McAbee Medical Inc, Kindred Hospice, Sensations Massage and Body Clinic, Amedisys Home Health of Decatur Al, Decatur Morgan Home Care, Zoey’s Downtown, Kindred at Home and SouthernCare New Beacon Hospice.
We are so thankful to everyone who came out to support us at the event and continue to support The Cottage’s mission: Independence, Dignity, and Choice. We look forward to the next 15 years!
