Unique activities are available in each Cottage community and are scheduled by our staff based on the interests of our residents. Calendars are carefully planned to ensure that residents and their families have an opportunity to participate in a variety of activities that support their mind, body, and spirit. Residents have numerous opportunities that support an active and healthy lifestyle.

Kelly Clemons serves as the Executive Director at Country Cottage. She has over 10 years experience working in healthcare, 3 of those years were spent caring specifically for Alzheimer’s patients as as a personal sitter.
“I really enjoy working at the Cottage, because I love to help seniors. The residents mean a lot to me, and it brings me joy to be able to spend time with them and help them in anyway I can,” she says.
Kelly has three daughters, Brittany, Caitlin, and Hayley, and spends most of her free time with her kids. Kelly and her family are members of First Holy Church of Christ in Decatur.
Kelly stepped into the Admissions Coordinator role after spending a year at the Cottage as a Homemaker. “I enjoy working at the Cottage Because I love taking care of others,” Kelly says.
Before joining the Cottage team, she worked as a teacher and Assistant Director with La Petite Academy. Kelly enjoys watching movies and spending time with her family. She has two children, Abbie and Brayden, with her husband Tyler.
Sherry Strickland started her career at Country Cottage in 2012 as a Resident Assistant, and has worked in various other position within the community before being promoted to her current role as Resident Services Director.
Prior to working at the Cottage, Sherry worked as a private caregiver for seniors still living at home. “I have a passion for helping people and specifically get joy from helping seniors in our community”.
Sherry and her husband, Jeff, have three kids, Tamara, Tyler, and Trey. She also has two grandchildren, Matthew and Jayden. In her spare time, Sherry enjoys working with the children’s choir, GA’s, and mission friends at her local church.
Selena is from Russellville, Alabama and first joined the Cottages in 1998 as the Resident Services Director for our Country Cottage in Russellville. Since that time she has been a member of the Cottage team in various positions, including Managing Director for several of our locations. Selena has been a nurse for 25 years, and has enjoyed 22 years caring for the elderly.
“The reason I love caring for the elderly is because of my many wonderful grandparents who played such an important role in my life,” says Selena.
